What is EBSI?
The European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) network will consist of distributed nodes located across Europe that will use blockchain technology to provide cross-border public services. Blockchain technology is a multipurpose technology that will ultimately revolutionize how people, governments, and businesses communicate with one another.
The European Blockchain Services Infrastructure's primary goal is to employ blockchain to create cross-border services for public administrations and their ecosystems to verify the information and make services trustworthy.
Since 2020, EBSI has been building a network of distributed blockchain nodes throughout Europe, allowing applications focused on specific use-cases. EBSI is the first EU-wide blockchain infrastructure led by the public sector that complies completely with European principles and regulations.
Now there are thirty-six nodes across Europe that are connected to EBSI which are working on several use cases such as:
Lithuania’s involvement
Lithuania's membership in the Single Digital Market gives a chance to join EBSI – all that is required is the establishment of an EBSI node. On the other side, the Lithuanian DLT node will have an impact on the Single Digital Market by providing an extra EU route for data sharing and tracking.
A significant number of EBSI nodes throughout the EU may result in more standardization of existing and planned use cases, resulting in improved accessibility and simplicity for end-users — whether individuals, companies, or public bodies.
EBSI nodes will enable interoperability between bodies in EU member states and Lithuania, enabling trusted, secure, and reliable information-sharing – incoming and outgoing document flows, tracing, and monitoring across the EU, without interfering with the work of other countries' institutions. As well as control their own wallets and information which they are sharing with the institutions.
DLTnode project
The main aim of the project is to develop and test the EBSI node, validate, and integrate it into European Blockchain Service Infrastructure (EBSI) and strengthen the capacity of public services, institutions, and stakeholders to use EBSI.
Lithuania’s team consists of a team of partners which are:
The initiative is supported by:
And the mentioned project is funded by Connecting Europe Facility of the European Union.
Training
As we know the main points of what EBSI is, how we are trying to implement it into Lithuania’s ecosystem, we would like to invite you to the training which will go deeper into EBSI infrastructure and architecture, more reasons why we should elaborate EBSI to achieve EU digital strategy goals and what goods it will bring to our country and Europe itself.
Grab your seat at the training now!
Learn more about the goods that EBSI is offering you and your organization! The training will consist of three parts:
• Training for the public sector. The training will take place on 16th November 2021 via an online platform (registered members will get a link a day before the session) in the training there will be discussed:
• Training for IT specialists. The training will take place on 18th January 2022 via an online platform (registered members will get a link a day before the session) in the training there will be discussed:
• Concluding conference. The training will take place on 8th February 2022 via an online platform (registered members will get a link a day before the session). The event will be dedicated to the whole of Europe and EBSI partners as well as Lithuania's IT specialists and the public sector. In the mentioned event there will be discussed best practices from the DLTnode project.

Blockchain is the future. This technology is transforming our society. This is why the European Commission and the European Blockchain Partnership are building the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI), striving for blockchain technology serving European citizens with services based on European values.
Meet the Early Adopters programme and multi-university pilot that are showing us how Europe's emerging Blockchain Infrastructure will look in practice.
Lithuania’s team together with KTU (Kaunas University of Technology) takes part in EBSI Early Adopters programme with the project called DLTnode.
CALL TO ACTION
Systems integration solutions, UAB and its partner's Infobal, eDelivery, SKS and E strategy - quickly adapt to new technological leaps, and this year there were many of them! We want to invite you to get introduced to one of them - DLTnode. What is it? It is the European Blockchain Service Infrastructure (EBSI), which offers cross-border public services. It aims to become a network where EBP members will have the flexibility to use the infrastructure they provide while collaborating and using cross-border public services, integrating existing solutions or integrating specific services. You will learn more during the seminar!
